Biography

The late shapour jafroudi , the famous artist , poet , lyricist , composer , theater , actor , and singer of gilan folklore music was born in rasht in 1928

As an artist , he began his activities from 1951 in the theater of gilanand after going to tehran and starting cooperation with the iranian radio and the orchestra of the iranian radio that was led by master morteza hannaneh , master habibollah badiei , master langerodi and to touraj negahban , sang more than 50 songs in Persian and the local dialect and continued artistic activities along with well-known artists such as master ashourpour , naser masoudi , shams , master pour reza , master amani , alizadeh , and the late forouzanfar and other artist

The late jafroudi , beside engaging in artistic activities , was an employee at the bank rahni (bank maskan) and the ministry of culture ( the present ministry of culture and Islamic guidance) .after his retirement in 1975 , he returned to rasht and started ceaseless cooperation with the rasht broadcasting center for two years . later , he returned to tehran and live with his wife in seclusion for 26 years and did not engage in artistic activities in those years.

Poems and lyrics of this artist , because of their folkloric richness and authentic gilaki (dialect spoken in gilan ) rhytms , are frequently used by the people and have turned into proverbs

The last home of this artist is located in emamzadeh taher of karaj beside graves of master banan , master hannaneh , master shamlu tajvidi , amir naser eftetah , and other artists.
